  • On April 4, 2017, CFBISD Council PTA recognized all the Life Member recipients in CFBISD at a ceremony at DeWitt Perry Middle School Auditorium. The Life Member Award is a high honor that recognizes an individual for their outstanding contributions to the well-being of children and youth. The Extended Service Award is for a person that is a Life Member and continues to be actively involved in TX PTA for 10 years. The National Life Achievement is presented to a person that daily lives out his/her commitment to children.

  • Texas PTA received 1,027 entries for state-level judging, and awarded nearly 500 students. Overall Award of Excellence recipients advance to National PTA judging and their results will be announced in June.   • RLT Wrestling goes to state competition! Please congratulate the R.L.Turner Wrestling Team for a job well done at the Texas State High School Wrestling Championships in Houston. Dario Rivera, Abram Gonzalez, Matt Peoza, Esua Giron, and Matt Thorp wrestled well against the best in the state. Special recognition goes to Gabriela Aguinada. On day one of the state championships, she went undefeated earning back to back wins. By the end of the tournament, she placed 6th in the entire state of Texas in the 110 pound weight class division. The R.L. Turner Wrestling Team wants to thank everyone for their support and looks forward to continued success. RLT Destination Imagination advances!! The RLT D.I. team took 2nd place last week, and only missed 1st place by less than (1/2) a point. They beat out teams that have been competing together for 11 years! The team has qualified to compete at the Texas State DI Tournament in Lubbock in early April. RLT DECA advances!! The RLT DECA Pride competed in the State Competition in San Antonio, and advance to compete at the International Conference in April. Please congratulate: Jose Alvarado Sahil Jiwani Angelica Luna Hillary Martinez We also have alternates who may be moving on to compete: Raul Gurrola Raul Garcia RLT Lionettes and Men's Dance Team clean up at competition!! The RLT drill team and men's dance team competed at the Showtime International dance competition, and received the following awards/distinctions: The Lionette officers received best in category for their Jazz, Lyrical, and Contemporary routines. The also received sweepstakes, judges award and CHAMPIONS CIRCLE! The Lionettes received best in category for their High Kick. They also received sweepstakes, judges award and CHAMPIONS CIRCLE! The Men's Dance Company received best in category for their Contemporary routine and a first division trophy!

  • Congratulations to the students who participated this year in Reflections, the National PTA Art Program. The theme for 2016-17 was 'What is your story?' Students from Kinder through 12 grade may participate in 6 different categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography and Visual Arts. Students compete in their school and the top 20% advance to the CFB Council PTA judging. In the picture above are the Overall Award of Excellence recipients with an entry that advanced to State level of judging. Good luck to you!   • RLT Fine Arts will present Disney's beloved musical Beauty and the Beast January 19, 20 and 21 at 7:00 p.m. The performances start at 7:00 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are $10 general admission. All tickets bought at the door are $12. Tickets can be purchased at https://ticketracker.com/store/events/1418. Considered to be one of the most popular of Disney's creations, Beauty and The Beast is a "tale as old as time" and appropriate for all ages and audiences. Please join Belle, Gaston, the Beast and all of the beloved characters as they come to life on stage in a beautiful story of love and acceptance. The production boasts a cast of over 70 members, as well as the 2015-2016 winner of both the Dallas Summer Musicals and Schmidt and Jones awards for Best Orchestra, the R. L. Turner Pit Orchestra.

  • What: Students may enter (1) one film into each of the four categories: Documentary, Narrative, Traditional Animation, Computer Animation When: Entries are to be submitted via GoogleDrive to Whitney Kelley (kelleyw@cfbisd.edu) or Renee Putter (putterr@cfbisd.edu) between December 9, 2016 and January 5, 2017. All entries will be screened on January 13th at Creekview High School, and winners will be announced. How: Talk to your campus contact for entry and submission guidelines. Who can enter? Open to all CFBISD full-time high school students: Creekview, Newman Smith, RL Turner, Ranchview, Early College High School Will there be prizes? Awards will be given for Best of Show, Best in Category and People's Choice. Talk with your campus coordinator about entering the State Competition from your campus. How much does it cost? $10 per individual entry. Each student may only enter up to 4 film, one per category. How long can the films be? 3-7 minutes total, including intro and credits Where can I get more information?
