UIL Eligibility Rules (No Pass, No Play)

The C-FB ISD Compliance Schedule 2017-2018 School Year

Academic Grading Periods for Extracurricular Programs

August 28, Mon.       –      School Begins

  • All students meeting the UIL requirements of promotion or earned credits are eligible. These requirements are:
  • High – student promoted from previous grade
  • Soph – student has earned five (5) credits
  • Junior – student has earned 10 credits or earned five the previous year
  • Senior – student has earned 15 credits or earned five the previous year

MAKE SURE THE CREDITS ARE TOWARD STATE GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

October 6, Fri.          –      End of First Six Weeks

  • All grades must be checked.

Oct 6 – Oct. 13          –      Grace Period – Students who failed a class are still eligible

October 13, Fri.        –      At the end of the school day, anyone with a failing grade on Oct. 6 becomes ineligible for the remainder of first grading period

October 20, Fri.        –      End of first grading period (eight weeks)

  • All grades must be checked

Oct. 20- Oct. 27        –      Grace period for those who fail a subject and a waiting period for those who become eligible at the end of the first grading period.

October 27, Fri.        –      Students failing any course on October 20 becomes ineligible at the end of the school day.  Students previously ineligible become eligible if they passed all subjects.

November 10, Fri.    –      Three-week grade checks for all ineligible students.

Nov. 10 – Nov. 17    –      Waiting period

November 17, Fri.    –      Ineligible students who passed all subjects as of November 10 become eligible at the end of the school day.

Nov. 17 – Nov. 27    –      From the time the bell rings on November 17 until the start of the school day on Nov 27 all students are ACADEMICALLY eligible to participate.

December 8, Fri.       –      Three-week grade checks for all ineligible students.

Dec. 8 – Dec. 15       –     Waiting period

December 15, Fri.    –      Ineligible students who passed all subjects as of December 8 become eligible at the end of the school day.

December 22, Fri.    –      End of second grading period (eight weeks).

  • All grades must be checked

Dec. 22 – Jan. 9        –      All students are ACADEMICALLY eligible to participate from Dec 22 at the end of the school day until the start of the school day on Tues. Jan 9, 2018.

Jan.  9 – Jan.  16       –      Grace period for those who fail a subject on Dec 22 and a waiting period for those who become eligible at the end of the second grading period.

January 16, Tues.     –      Ineligibility begins at the end of the school day or eligibility is regained.

January 29, Mon.     –      Three-week grade checks for all ineligible students.

Jan. 29 – Feb. 5        –      Waiting Period

Feb. 5, Mon.              –      Ineligible students who passed all subjects as of Jan 29 become eligible at the end of the school day.

February 16, Fri.      –      Three-week grade checks for all ineligible students.

Feb. 16 – Feb 23       –      Waiting period.

Feb 23, Fri.                –      Ineligible students who passed all subjects as of February 16 become eligible at the end of the school day.

Mar. 9 – Mar. 19      –      From the time the bell rings on the 9th to dismiss kids for spring break until

school begins on the 19th  all students are ACADEMICALLY eligible to participate.

March 23, Fri.           –      End of third grading period (ten weeks).

  • All grades must be checked

Mar. 23 – Mar. 30    –      Waiting period.

March 30, Fri.           –      Students failing any course on March 23rd become ineligible at the end of the regular time of the school day. Student’s regaining eligibility become eligible at the end of the regular time of the school day. This is in effect whether or not school is in session on this bad weather day.

April 13, Fri.             –      Three-week grade checks for the ineligible students.

Apr. 13 – Apr. 20     –      Waiting period.

April 20, Fri.              –      Ineligible students who passed all subjects as of April 13 become eligible at the end of the school day.

May 4, Fri.                 –      Three-week grade checks for the ineligible students.

May 4 – May 11       –      Waiting period.

May 11, Fri.              –      Ineligible students who passed all subjects as of May 4th become eligible at the end of the school day.

June 7, Thurs.           –      Last day of school. End of the fourth grading period. Students with the correct number of credits will be eligible when school begins in the fall.  Those needing additional credits may earn these during the summer.
