DECA is a club/organization that prepares students to become leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. The club meets usually once a month, but has practices at least 3 Saturdays and the student must designate their own time to study for exams, role plays, or prepare written events.

Students who are enrolled in marketing, business management or entrepreneurship courses are eligible to join.  DECA allows students to participate in competition at the District, State and National level.  Students who choose to compete learn not only about marketing, finance and business, but they also learn leadership skills, professional dress, presentation skills, self-confidence and time management.  DECA strives to prepare students to be academically prepared for both college and careers.

By leveraging their DECA membership, members can become

  • academically prepared for college and careers in marketing, finance, hospitality or management
  • community oriented by gaining an appreciation for the benefits of service and their potential impact on the community and world
  • professionally responsible with ethics, integrity and high standards
  • experienced leaders by practicing key leadership skills such as goal setting, consensus building and project management.
