About Our Coaches

Head Coach: Vincent Jovel

I am very excited to be a part of the Mustang soccer program. Being around players who share my love and passion for the game is gratifying.

A product of CFB, I started at Blanton Elementary, went to Field Middle School and graduated from R.L.Turner High School in 1991. After being a captain under R.L.Turner’s current soccer coach, Marshall Huston during my senior year at Turner, in 2000 I returned to be his assistant coach.

Some of our accomplishments during my 12 years as the JV coach include:

  • 6 consecutive District Championships
  • A second place finish in 2013
  • A record that includes two undefeated seasons, 11 -1-0 in 2010 and 19-2-0 in 2012 receiving only 16 goals and scoring a total of 92 goals.
  • 2 – Rockwall Winter Invitational Champions
  • 2 – Allen Winter Tournament Championships
  • 3 – CFB Invitational Championships

Some varsity team’s accomplishments include:

  • Seven playoff appearances, 6 of them consecutive (2007 – 20012)
  • Two district championships
  • Second place in distric as 1st year head coach at CreekView High school

I have played the game all of my life, including one season at the Semi-pro level. I gave up my semi-pro career to fulfill the dream I had since I came to this country: becoming an educator.

It is my belief that our program can be a life learning experience for every athlete that walks through our doors. To effectively do this I address the needs of the individual before those of the game. By putting my students first I am able to incentivize them to become active members of the team. Then – as a team – we address the needs of the game. Through soccer I try to teach them life learnings skills, some of which include: perseverance, teamwork and community service. Most importantly though, they learn to put family first… We become the soccer family!
