  • 3rd-5th grade students at Thompson Elementary had some special visitors January 24th. Performers with the Dallas Opera came to present Mozart's, "Bastien & Bastienne." After enjoying the show, students learned that Mozart composed the opera when he was only 12 years old. We hope some students were inspired to create something of their own. They're never too young to start!

  • Thompson Elementary celebrated a Day of Science January 10th with some help from Long Middle School engineering students. Several 8th graders spent time with 5th grade students showing them the ins and outs of programming a robot. After their robots made it over the finish line, the only thing left to do was program a victory dance! There were several students who learned they had a love for programming by the end of the day.

Thompson was able to make more than $2,000.00 for their trip to Austin this spring. After enjoying a meal with friends and family, Rocket Science for Kids hosted a Lego themed STEM night in the cafeteria. It is safe to say, a good time was had by all that attended!
