  • On April 4, 2017, CFBISD Council PTA recognized all the Life Member recipients in CFBISD at a ceremony at DeWitt Perry Middle School Auditorium. The Life Member Award is a high honor that recognizes an individual for their outstanding contributions to the well-being of children and youth. The Extended Service Award is for a person that is a Life Member and continues to be actively involved in TX PTA for 10 years. The National Life Achievement is presented to a person that daily lives out his/her commitment to children.

  • On Monday, March 27th, CFBISD held an art competition in order to celebrate Healthy Lifestyles, Mind, Body and Spirit. 3rd-12th grade were able to participate in this competition. An art exhibit and awards were planned at the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center to give friends, family and the community an opportunity to appreciate all entries and student artists. Two Furneaux Elementary students participated in this competition. Congratulations to future artists, Kaylee and Christy Dang for representing Furneaux in the Healthy Lifestyles Art Contest!

  • Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade STAAR buddies provided delicious encouragement for students taking the STAAR test. STAAR buddies are a class from the primary grades (K-2) that encourage students from the testing grades (3-5). They create fun, inspirational projects and pair them with snacks that can make the testing window less strenuous. They will be providing these gifts both today and before the May testing dates. Way to go, STAAR buddies!

  • Furneaux Elementary commemorate Dr. Seuss' Birthday & National Read Across America Day by reading numerous Dr. Seuss books to Furneaux students. Furneaux had two very special readers come in to read to them. Mrs. Brown from Metrocrest Services and Mrs. Parker. Mrs. Parker also wore a "Cat in the Hat" themed hat as she read to the students.

  • Congratulations to the students who participated this year in Reflections, the National PTA Art Program. The theme for 2016-17 was 'What is your story?' Students from Kinder through 12 grade may participate in 6 different categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography and Visual Arts. Students compete in their school and the top 20% advance to the CFB Council PTA judging. In the picture above are the Overall Award of Excellence recipients with an entry that advanced to State level of judging. Good luck to you!
