Getting Started

C-FB ISD is committed to using the technology our taxpayers have provided us. Communication is important to us and we work hard to deliver it in every format available. New technology can be confusing so here is some information to help you understand how to take advantage of all the communication options C-FB has to offer.

What is a podcast?
Originally coined in reference to iPods, you do not need to have an iPod or portable mp3 player in order to enjoy and subscribe to a podcast. A podcast is a "feed" of information that you can 'subscribe' to much like you may subscribe to a mailing list. All you need is an Internet connection and software capable of managing the podcast subscriptions. When podcasts are updated, your podcast software will automatically download the latest episodes, which may include audio, video, text or a combination of multimedia. The most widely used software for podcast subscription management is iTunes by Apple - it is free and available for Windows and Mac platforms. Click here to learn more and to download iTunes.

C-FB ISD is now offering a podcast feed so you can get our news automatically updated as the news happens, in a format you want. Our RSS feed can be received on a computer or iPod. New iPods support both audio and video podcasts.

What do I do with the strange code that comes up when I click on the  icon?
If you see code in your browser after clicking on the link, it's because you are lacking the proper software to manage your subscriptions. We recommend iTunes because it supports text, audio and video files. It is free and available for Mac and Windows.
